Josue Gonzalez
Today’s Tempco Tech Spotlight features Josue Gonzalez, Lawn, and Ornamental Technician. Josue (pronounced ho-sway) is the go-to guy for turning problem lawns into the greenest ones on the block!
Although he hails from Waukegan, Illinois, Josue moved to Florida as a teen with his family and loves the much warmer climate here in Southwest Florida. He was home-schooled and graduated two years early at 16. He’s also a Massage Therapy School grad. Prior to joining Team Tempco in 2015, Josue was employed by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for seven years.

With seven years of pest control experience under his belt, Josue knows how to get and keep lawns lush and healthy. He says, “Knowledge is power. I try to help my clients become educated consumers when it comes to their lawns so we can work as a team. A great resource I recommend is the University of Florida’s Institute of Food & Sciences website (IFAS.ufl.edu.) Josue says the worst lawn he had the pleasure of turning around was a 15,000 square foot property in Lehigh. It was 70% covered in chinch but shortly after the first service, it looked like an entirely different property. “Of course, lawns need ongoing treatment to stay green and healthy since the active ingredients in the products only last for up to 60 days, but still it was rewarding to see how quickly we were able to solve the issue for the client!” To Josue, making customers happy by solving their pest problems is what it’s all about.
Get To Know Josue
When not being a yard superhero, Josue loves spending quality time with his two sons, ages 7 and 14. He is also a competitive powerlifter and the owner of two crazy cats. Josue says something that surprises people about him is he does not speak Spanish. When asked about his overall philosophy Josue replied, “My go-to is everything happens for a reason. Digest why things happen in your life, process it, and learn from each experience.”
