Termite Treatment
Don't displace your family by tenting your home when you can spot-treat termite damage.
- It's Safer
- It's Cost-Effective
- It's Efficient
Termite damage can be a real pain in the pocketbook.
Subterranean termites, especially the invasive exotic Formosan Termite can cause thousands of dollars of damage to homes, attics, outside decks, docks, sheds, and pretty much any area where wood structures stand.
These wood eaters, along with other wood-destroying organisms, can hinder financing when closing on a home for sale or refinancing, or worse, can cause structural issues when floorboards or roof structures are destroyed.
We can handle your termite or wood-destroying organism problem.
It all starts with an inspection and it leads to a custom treatment plan.
Tenting is a costly and disruptive method of treatment.
The first thing many people think of when they hear the word termite is the costly and disruptive method of tenting an entire house.
Tenting is an extreme measure for an extreme termite scenario – and there are often much more affordable and convenient treatments that are just as effective.
Our termite experts go the extra mile
Our termite experts go the extra mile to identify the type of termite infestation or wood destroying organism before recommending a solution.
Our treatment methods include trench and treat, foaming wall voids, Bora-Care attic treatments, and/or our Trelona Baiting System which can knock out an entire colony without displacing your family.
Our Treatment Process
When we get a termite or wood destroying organism call, we follow a step-by-step process to identify the species.

First, We Look For Entry Points
For termites, we look for points of entry signs specific to Formosans or subterranean first. Many times, we crawl through attics, use moisture detectors, and do other investigative work. We can further examine samples in our office under a microscope to confirm our findings.
Native Subterranean Termites vs. Formosan Termite
There is a significant difference between native subterranean termites and the Formosan Termite, which is an exotic import from South Asia. While all subterranean termites rely on moist soil to survive, native species must return to the soil for hydration. Formosan termites build nest boxes that store moisture, allowing them to keep working and eating without the need to return to the soil. Formosan colonies multiply at a rate of about 7-10 times as fast as the native species as well. So, they not only are more efficient, their huge numbers make short work of wood. It is estimated that a foot-long 2X4 plank can be devoured by Formosans in as little as 25 days.
Termites swarm in the late spring.
Termites are year-round pests, but spring is their primary time to reproduce. If you see a swarm, there is a good chance that there is a colony nearby that needs attention. Both types of subterraneans swarm, so Tempco’s professional termite technicians look for telltale termite signs.
- Wood droppings (termite poop)
- Wings scattered around window sills
- Mud tubes from the ground to the food source
- Wood damage
